How to apply

Step 8 - Receive your passport and visa by mail

(return to steps)

Your new visa, passport and petitions (I-797, DS-2019, etc.) will arrive in the self-addressed, stamped envelope you brought with you to the Consulate.  We generally are able to mail out the visas and passports the same day as your interview, but we cannot guarantee that.  Arrival after mailing is dependant on the Dutch postal system.  As it is registered mail, an adult will have to be home to sign for receipt of the package.

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Delivery of registered mail usually takes 3-4 business days, but can take longer. The Consulate General cannot be held responsible for extra costs due to changing tickets or rebooking flights if delivery is delayed. We therefore strongly urge you NOT to purchase tickets until you have received your visa and passport in the mail.

When you have received your visa it is important to check it.  Click here to find out how.
