Consul General Julie Ruterbories, Professor Diederik Oostdijk and Professor Geert Buelens
Consul General Julie Ruterbories hosted a book launch and reception in honor of Dutch American Heritage Day and in commemoration of Veterans Day. Professor Diederik Oostdijk presented his book "Among the Nightmare Fighters" and recited poems by American authors reflecting on their experience in the Second World War. In her remarks, the Consul General spoke about the long and uninterrupted friendship between the United States and the Netherlands. She noted the historical links between the Consulate General building and World War II, adding that it was fitting that the presentation of a book remembering this painful history take place here.
