Consul General Hosts Humanity in Action

Consul General Julie A. Ruterbories hosted participants of the Senior Fellow Network who were taking part in the Humanity in Action Core Program 2011.  The approximately 20 Dutch, Bosnian and American students were in Amsterdam to learn more about such themes as Relevance of the Holocaust; Immigration and Integration in The Netherlands; and Racism and Discrimination.  Together with New York Times writer and author of Island at the Center of the World, Russell Shorto, Consul General Ruterbories shared with participants information about her career path and reiterated the United States’ commitment to celebrating diversity.  Russell Shorto shared some of his insights into Dutch and American cultures.  A lively discussion with the students and reception followed.
