Q Visas

Q-1 visa classification applies to participants in an international cultural exchange program for the purpose of providing practical training, employment, and the sharing of the history, culture of the alien's home country.

Participants in the "Q" program must have the designated sponsoring organization file form I-129, Petition for Nonimmigrant Worker, with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).  For more details on how to file for a Q petition, please visit the USCIS website.

Note that P visas are also for cultural exchange visitors and do not require an I-129 petition.
