Contact and visiting information for non-immigrant visa services

Visa Information and services- Visuminformatie en diensten

The American Consulate General is the Consular Section of the American Embassy in The Hague.  Only the Consulate General in Amsterdam provides visa services.  These services are available by appointment only. Note that the entrance is around the corner from the Museumplein, in the Gabriël Metsustraat.

Het Amerikaans Consulaat Generaal is de Consulaire Afdeling van de Amerikaanse Ambassade in Den Haag. Visumdiensten zijn uitsluitend verkrijgbaar op het Consulaat Generaal in Amsterdam. Deze diensten zijn alleen op afspraak verkrijgbaar. De ingang is om de hoek van het Museumplein, in de Gabriël Metsustraat.

The number is (31)(0)20-794 0808.  This number is not free.  You will be requested to pay €15 for your call, by Visa or Mastercard.  Under this number you get to talk to a live operator.  The service is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM.  Please note that if you do need a visa you will need to call this number too.  You can get your questions answered and your appointment set up with a single call. 

*Indien u, ondanks het doornemen van de website, toch nog vragen heeft omtrent de noodzaak voor een visum of visa voor tijdelijk verblijf, kunt u met een telefonist van ons call center bellen. Voordat u belt, leest u alstublieft onze sectie Veelgestelde Vragen.

Het nummer is (31)(0)20-794 0808. Dit nummer is niet gratis. U zult verzocht worden om € 15 voor uw gesprek te betalen met uw Visa of Master Card. U krijgt krijgt dan een medewerker van het call center te spreken. Deze dienst is beschikbaar maandag tot en met vrijdag tussen 8 uur 's ochtends en 5 uur 's middags. Als u inderdaad een visum nodig hebt zult u ook dit nummer moeten bellen voor een afspraak. U kunt dan met een enkel gesprek zowel antwoord krijgen op uw vragen alsook uw afspraak maken.

- Sending Documents: Fax or e-mail? -

When an original document is required you should send it by mail or courier of course. But if you need to send a document for information purposes only you can send it by fax.  Best would be however if you send your document(s) by e-mail, as a PDF file for instance.  This will allow us respond quicker and assist you better with any consular issues you may have.  ConsularAmster@state.gov
